Fire Extinguisher Training: Non Accredited

Designed For:

Personnel occupying premises equipped with portable firefighting equipment, e.g. fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire hose reel.

Aims:

To prepare participants to:

Have knowledge and confidence in fire emergency response.
Identify on-site fire extinguisher types.
Operate portable fire extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels effectively and safely.
Identify fire hazards in your workplace.
Improve housekeeping techniques to reduce the risk of fire.
Employ safe working practices.

Content:

Describe the principles and components of combustion.
Colour coding of fire extinguishers
Properties of extinguishants
Extinguishant / fire compatibility.
Hands-on use of extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels.

Site Requirements

This course is principally designed for delivery at the clients’ premises for maximum group size of 15 persons.

To conduct theory presentation we require a boardroom/classroom with facility to darken room for computer projection or Smart TV/HDMI connection. To conduct practical extinguisher use we require an outdoor area no less than ten metres radius free from flammable materials and with water supply available.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance outlining the aims and outcomes.
